A brave buffalo defended its calf from a fierce pack of lions in Tanzania, east Africa.
Footage captured by amateur German photographer Andreas Häntzschel shows a pride of hungry lions chasing away a group of buffalo. But, after falling behind, one decides to stand up to the pack as they eye-up a small calf.
Three lions eventually gang up against the buffalo and manage to pounce away with the young baby. Immediately after, the 70-stone beast charges into the three lions before they have a chance to feast.
