Rene Anderson, a hunter herself had to face the worst, being hunted! She has been doing the courageous act for many years and she also had her all time pals, three hunting dogs. This time she was alone, since her three hunting mates were brutally killed and eaten by “something” three days before the incident being talked about here. That same “something” also opting for her, which made her drop her bow and shoot it in between the eyes, with her fire weapon. It was a wolf, and the residents and environment experts should now be alarmed to trace out and solve the reasons behind the threat increasing!

What better way to celebrate Shark week than spend it cage diving with White Sharks at Guadalupe Island Mexico. It is one of the best locations to see Great Whites because of the incredible visibility and the number of sharks. After spending around 15 hours underwater photographing the sharks from the relative safety of the cage I decided to get up close and personal by putting my Gopro out in the open water. Out of the more than 20 sharks that frequented our cage two of them consistently out-smarted us by sneaking up and grabbing the fish that we used to scent the water before we could pull it away. We were not feeding them but these two managed to get away with a couple of snacks. It was one of these sharks that also grabbed my Gopro rig and took off.  This video was shot by Martin Graff of sharkdiver.com . He joined Sam Davey and I ( Allan Davey ) in the cage to get some shots of us photographing one of the grumpier sharks. Out of the 150 sharks known to visit Guadalupe Island 20 frequented our cage. Mostly the were calm and curious and would come up and look each of us in the eye. We added 4 new sharks to the database.They are majestic graceful creatures which are misunderstood. Best way to spend Shark Week. It was absolutely amazing.

2 years ago, a group of divers from the LA area (LAUE: Los Angeles Underwater Explorer) started the project Infidel clean up. The goal was to remove all the nets that cover the wreck and regularly trap marine life (seals, sea lions, even birds). The wreck seats under 150ft of water, which makes the cleaning work challenging and requires lots of caution, strong dive teams and very rigorous process.

After many dives, the wreck is starting to look much better now, and new marine life have elected it as their new home: lobsters, nudibranchs, wolf eel, and so on.
On Aug 23rd, 2014, new missions were set to both continue removing the nets (and a lot was removed again), but also document the new life. Unfortunately, the visibility wasn’t very good for still pictures, even video. But on the way back, we had a chance to have the company of a Great White Shark, probably 16 to 20ft long. She checked us out very closely and tagged along for 4 minutes. We had few minutes of excitement, and of course a bit of chill, knowing that we had a long time to get to the surface.

Although great white sharks are feared and demonized, the actual experience of being in the water with one (admittedly from the safety of a metal cage) is considerably more calm, almost meditative. The blue and clear waters of Guadalupe Island, Mexico, are home to great white sharks during the months of August-November.

Footage from the West Australian edition of ABC TV News at 7pm on the 2nd of October, 2014. The day a surfer was bitten by a shark and then a Great White Shark was hunted, caught and killed by the WA Department of Fisheries after approval was reportedly sought of and, reportedly granted by Federal Environment Minister Greg Hunt to do so.

Late developing news, at the end of the story, indicates that it may NOT have been a GWS that bit the surfer after all. He reportedly said it was two Bronze Whalers.
